(ALISO VIEJO, CA) December 12, 2001 — eEye Digital Security and SMI Soft (www.SMIsoft.com), the software division of Sumitomo Metal System Solutions Co., Ltd., announced today a strategic partnership in which SMI Soft will offer eEye products to its large client base in Japan. The partnership will initially focus on two of eEye’s products, SecureIIS™ and Iris™. Both software products have been localized to the Japanese language and optimized to run on Japanese systems.
The products had their official launch in the Japanese market on 18 September, 2001 through a large conference hosted by SMI Soft. The conference brought together a broad representation of key clients, SMI affiliated Resellers, and Japanese media. eEye was represented at this conference by Marc Maiffret, Chief Hacking Offer of eEye Digital Security and Laurentiu Nicula, Senior Product Architect.
SMI Soft plans to distribute the products through its large network of Japanese resellers. The localization of eEye products into Japanese is an instrumental element of the partnership and signifies eEye’s commitment to its entry to the Asian market.
