(Irvine, CA) eEye Digital Security is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Product Management group. The Product Manager will use qualitative and quantitative skills to evaluate customer needs/wants and competitive offerings. They will take the lead in translating customer needs/wants into product features and functional specifications. The successful candidate will drive the product development process from initial concept to implementation and will collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales and Business Development teams to sell and deliver network security software solutions. We are seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented Product Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovating work environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide competitive intelligence and analysis of eEye products and services.
- Be an expert with respect to the competition and the security industry.
- Work on cross-functional team to translate customer needs and technology directions into product definitions.
- Document PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
- Participate in product teams and assist in making product trade-off decisions during development.
- Help define product pricing through research and business cases.
- Assist in the production of product documentation, marketing & sales collateral.
- Support marketing communications activities via conferences, articles and white papers.
- Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings.
- Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
- Collaborates to develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan for a product, working with all departments to execute.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
- Experience with the Agile development philosophy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical or security background
- Experience with security software: firewalls / intrusion detection systems / vulnerability scanners highly desirable
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Must be able to manage multiple products simultaneously
- Willingness to work overtime, especially around key project deadlines or events
- Interested and willing to work in a growing, dynamic start-up company in a hands-on role
- Willingness to travel for events, trade shows, and customer visits
